infertility terminology 101 - notes for non-infertiles

Ok, so, there is a difference between eggs and embryos. Eggs are eggs. Embryos are fertilized eggs. Why do some people think these two terms are interchangeable?

Implantation? No, we do not have eggs or embryos implanted. We hope they become implanted, but if we did have them implanted, we'd all be pregnant!

IVF (in vetro fertilization) is what happens when an egg is fertilized OUTSIDE the body. So not all infertility treatment falls under IVF, like IUI (intrauterine insemination) is not IVF.
